Polypropylene yarn, texturised to mimic the tactile feel of natural fibre — it weathers better than most naturals, holds its colour, and requires almost no maintenance. When conditions are too harsh for jute or seagrass, this is what we use.
PP yarn is extruded, then texturised — a process that gives it a slightly irregular, organic surface feel. When woven tightly, it looks and handles closer to natural fibre than most synthetics, while maintaining the weatherproof properties of plastic.
The yarn is woven by hand in Bagru directly onto wrought iron frames — the same process as our natural fibre pieces. There's no shortcut in how it's made, only in how it behaves outdoors.
UV-stable and colourfast — it won't fade in the sun or swell in the rain. Suitable for fully exposed outdoor use in all climates, including coastal. It doesn't develop the same patina as natural fibres, but it holds its form and colour season after season.
Wipe clean. Hose down. No seasonal storage required.
